INTRODUCTORY FLIGHTS

Every pilot starts here. If you are interested in becoming a helicopter pilot, schedule a flight with one of our FAA certified flight instructors (CFI). On your introductory flight you and your instructor will sit down and talk about helicopters. You and the flight instructor will cover the basic controls and what they do and then you get to go fly! At Pine Tree Helicopters, you have the controls from the beginning of the flight to the end! We don’t just show you how the helicopter flies; you get to try your hand at it.

PRIVATE PILOT

This is the next step after your introductory flight! During your Private Pilot flight training you will be taught how to safely and professionally operate a helicopter. You will form a flight training plan with your flight instructor who will take you through the entire process. At the end of your training you will become certificated through the FAA as a Private Pilot.

R44 TRANSITION COURSE

Once you become a Private Pilot, you will be rated and trained to fly the R22 helicopter, a smaller and less expensive two (2) seat helicopter. However, If you want to go farther, faster, and to carry more people, the R44 is the helicopter for you! We offer a 5 hour R44 transition course that satisfies all FAA requirements.

INSTRUMENT RATING

If you want to become a safer pilot, or go on to become a professional pilot, this is a great step that you can take! In our instrument helicopter training program, you will learn how to fly the helicopter in limited visibility, and poor weather conditions. You will learn to fly by just looking at the helicopter’s flight instruments. Becoming an instrument rated helicopter pilot will increase your confidence in the helicopter, and it will greatly increase your ability to fly the helicopter as a professional!

COMMERCIAL HELICOPTER TRAINING

If you want to become a career pilot, then this is the next step after you are a Private Pilot! Once you become a commercial pilot, you can now be paid to fly. Through your training with your flight instructor you will build your flight time until you reach the legal minimum 150 hours to achieve your commercial pilot's license.

ADVANCED AUTOROTATION TRAINING

Feeling a little rusty on your autorotations? It is highly recommended that you keep yourself prepared once you get your certificate. Doing recurrent training on emergency procedures and autorotations is the best way to ensure you always make it to your destination safely.

CERTIFIED FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR TRAINING (CFI)

The next step after becoming a commercial pilot is to become a Certified Flight Instructor! With this training you will learn the ins and outs of being a flight instructor while passing along your knowledge to the next generation of pilots.

CERTIFIED INSTRUMENT FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR TRAINING (CFI-I)

Once you become a Certified Flight Instructor you can continue on further and become a rated instrument instructor instructor in the helicopter.

SFAR 73 FLIGHT REVIEWS

Pine Tree Helicopters performs SFAR 73 flight reviews in both the R22 and R44 helicopters that will satisfy all SFAR 73 and part 61 FAA requirements.
